Joseph H. Hill (1715-1784) is the first of the famous Hill family of restorers, repairers and makers. His earliest labels date from 1756 in London at “High Holborn”, but he was likely making before that date. This beautiful viola is labeled “Jo. H. Hill, At e Violin in Angel Court 17 – Westminster”
