Andrea Cortese violin

Category

Andrea Cortese (1889-1954).   In his early years, Cortese was strongly influenced by the great Cesare Candi.  He worked in both Milan and Genoa, winning medals at exhibitions in Rome (1952) and Cremona (1949).   Stradivari and Pressenda were his two primary models, with lovely wood, careful and precise workmanship.   This fine instrument is a wonderful example of Cortese work, in excellent condition with a beautiful red colored varnish.

I'm interested in this Andrea Cortese violin.
