A fine violin by Tetsuo Matsuda (1945 – 2022) from 1987

Matsuda studied at the Cremona Violin Making School in Cremona, Italy. After several awards in competitions Matsuda moved to Chicago and joined William Harris Lee & Co.  Here he worked with Will Whedbee and Gary Garavaglia, making instruments and nurturing our workshop’s goal to offer the finest quality at every level. Mr. Matsuda made instruments with clear and powerful sounds and a quick response, an aesthetic he helped establish in our shop.
